I ran into your fellow Ellis-ite Pat from Philly at the Flood City Music Festival. Note to listers - go see Grace Potter & the Nocturnals! The song that haunted me for a long time was Howling at the Trouble. I've never seen it discussed here. Anyone else like it? For the uninitiated, it's on Sparrows Point. I looove the Hobo Song -- heard him do it on Folk Alley once. It's funny, but I can't imagine an RS show without There Goes Mavis, so I'm glad he broke the rule. Famous Blue Raincoat is always a treat. Will look for the Arrowhead video. He has such hidden gems in his early catalog, I was a little sad to see he didn't pull them out. ..Carol On Tue, Aug 25, 2009 at 1:39 PM, Pete Jameson wrote: > Karen, > > Thank you for your dedicated note-taking. From what I understand, the vast majority of the songs he played were by request. Most of the folks at the weekend, if I understand correctly, were big folk music fans but not necessarily "hardcore" RS fans who would know the earlier catalog very well. I thought the setlist looked pretty interesting, myself. Goodness knows I'd love to hear him perform "Ascent," which is one of my favorite songs, live. And hey, we gotta give him extra points for dusting off "She's in Spain," right? ;-) - --V On Tue, Aug 25, 2009 at 6:32 PM, Carol Love wrote: > .....I was actually very surprised that in three nights there were only > three songs from "Sparrows Point" -- two of them being "Kenworth" and > "AYHN" > -- songs you're going to get at EVERY RS show. > He has such hidden gems in his early catalog, I was a little sad to see he > didn't pull them out. > > ..Carol > > On Tue, Aug 25, 2009 at 1:39 PM, Pete Jameson > wrote: > > > Karen, > > > > Thank you for your dedicated note-taking.
