As I said I was having a cranky day yesterday. I did not see the mention on his website. I guess I am feeling left out because I am still waiting for my copies of the CD... Thanks again. virginia On Mar 10, 2009, at 5:27 PM, wrote: >>> If they are going to offer the EP for sale now to the general >>> public, it should be available as a stand alone purchase and from >>> his website. << > > It's going to be available, and is currently mentioned on the site: > > http://richardshindell.com/index.php?page=cds&display=524 > > RG > > > > > > > ________________________________ > From: > MICHAEL MARMER LINDA MARMER > To: shindell-list@smoe.org > Sent: Monday, March 9, 2009 4:54:28 PM > Subject: [RS] Bonus CD > > I got the new > CD in the mail Saturday as it is in a 6 x 9 padded mailer. > > I felt a edge to > make sure nothing would get damage with the scissor, as I cut > at the end of > the mailer. > > Well, the cardboard cover for the bonus CD got cut too! And that you would like to order just the EP now, since you got the CDs already. I bet they will do something for you, just like they did for me on the cut EP cover. Go to the website and email them. Mike Marmer ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Mar 2009 9:30:05 -0700 From: Subject: [RS] Bye Bye. While my overall thoughts on the CD are forthcoming, I'm wondering something about "Bye Bye." On the recording, Richard sings "Ten years to the day" in the first and second verses, then in the last verse as well. But in the written lyrics, he sings "One year to the day" in the first and second verses. DId he goof? I mean, in the last verse (supposedly 10 years later), the roses are wild and overgrown, and the house abandoned, which might make sense. In the first verse, though. the father is supposedly keeping the garden the way it was when his daughter left, saying "But that doesn't mean we let the roses go." So why do the first two verses -- at least as sung -- supposedly take place 10 years later? Am I missing something? Aren't the printed lyrics correct and the sung lyrics, well, not so much? I am really looking forward to hearing studio versions of the songs I heard Richard perform in the UK 2007 (Clare, Balloon Man, State of the Union, Parasol Ants and Bye Bye) but even more curious for the other ones which are completely new to me. (pity I can't compare Last Man's Arkansas to any other versions as I've never heard it before, same goes for the still unreleased Walden Well by the way, but hey maybe he'll play it during of his Dutch concerts in may) Ronnie somewhere near Amsterdam, still waiting on NFN _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger!
