I had never been to the Rubin before, but that was a beautiful space and I loved hearing Richard's music all-acoustic. (Could've done without the Mary Magdalene fan who was three sheets to the wind, but there's one in every crowd I suppose). I did end up sitting fairly close - I was in the second row, just to the right of center. I ended up going up to Westchester for last night's show as well. He only had Lincoln with him (and they were plugged in), so it was a very different instrumentation/feel. Very different crowd, too. Lots of first-timers, and lots of requests for things like "the firefighter song" and "the thirteen crosses song." It was interesting hearing him do all of the guitar work - he's playing better with three fingers than most of us could hope to with four (or fifteen).
