I saw him in a VERY small place in Vermont (couldn't have been more than 50 fifty people).Since the place was so small people were just talking to him between songs and he was talking right back. After LFOTD, I said, "Hey Richard, is that one couple or two?" He said, "Just one." I said, "Yeah I don't think so. I actually think you're wrong." He smiled and said something to the effect of "I won't fool myself into believing the efficacy of inentionality" or something like that, which I took to mean he didn't think that what he INTENDED songs to say/mean is what they end up meaning/saying to the listeners. Funny he was talking about it a few shows later.
