Every RS show I've been to has been sold out. Does anyone know what the largest audience count is for Richard? Is it time for him to move to larger venues? I only know a couple of songs by Jack Harris > but that young man is really talented! I hope someday > he tours in the US. I'd love to see him in concert. Me too. His mum says he is saving up for a trip across the pond. Help the cause by buying his cd from her. Info on his web site. www.jackharrismusic.com carrie in kc ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 04 Aug 2007 09:12:42 -0400 From: rockinrond@aol.com Subject: [RS] Oh, Dear... Does anyone else think $45 is awfully steep, even if it is Richard unplugged, for last Friday's NYC gig? Geez...it's still folk music afterall. Was it at an exclusive venue or what? carrie in kc ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 4 Aug 2007 07:54:36 -0700 (PDT) From: Janet Cinelli Subject: Re: [RS] Oh, Dear... > RR sez > > > Does anyone else think $45 is awfully steep, even > if it is Richard > > unplugged, for last Friday's NYC gig? > Yeah, good news for Richard that he could sell out a show with tickets at that price but bad news for those of us who can't shell out that kind of dough. I always buy more than one ticket to his shows and that's a bit out of my league! Hopefully someone from the list was there and could give us a review? Thanks for the info on Jack Harris Carrie. Had no idea he has an album out! Janet ____________________________________________________________________________________ Looking for a deal? Find great prices on flights and hotels with Yahoo! There's no denying $45 is a hefty price tag. That was part of the reason I hesitated about buying the ticket. Then I saw him at Falcon Ridge and thought, "Who am I kiddin'? Of *course* I'm going to the Rubin." I was impressed that it sold out at that price--it's a smaller venue, but still 137 seats at $40-$45 a head ain't nothing to sneeze at. Like Janet said, though, I often buy a pair of tickets for his shows but I just couldn't afford to do that this time around. But, with a ticket I was able to score through Craigslist at the last minute, I did have a wonderful time by myself. The sound at the Rubin really is lovely, and Richard definitely seemed to enjoy playing there. He debuted another new song--Mariana's ... I forget! Mariana's something! It'll come back to me. Also, yesterday was August 3rd--Richard's birthday! The audience was led in a rousing rendition of the Happy Birthday song, much to Richard's great embarassment (he mused out loud about the logistics of hiding under a very small table). ;-) Now why would anyone wanna miss that? ;-) - --V On 8/4/07, rockinrond@aol.com wrote: > > Does anyone else think $45 is awfully steep, even if it is Richard > unplugged, for last Friday's NYC gig? > > Geez...it's still folk music afterall. > > RonD > > > > > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: shindell-list-digest > To: shindell-list-digest@smoe.org > Sent: Sat, 4 Aug 2007 4:55 am > Subject: shindell-list-digest V9 #133 > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ________________________________________________________________________ > AOL now offers free email to everyone. Craigslist eh? My friend said you can find anything there but I didn't think that included concert tickets!
