Also... the Mollsters will be coming to "Outpost In The Burbs" on Friday, November 3rd.... opening for the great Jonathan Edwards...who I just saw recently and is till at the top of his game. "Outpost" also has the one the only... be still my heart... SUSAN WERNER.... on September 15th. This will sell out in advance... so don't say I didn't tell you. Ok... I will go now... very interesting discussion about the who-what-when-where-and-why of the release of Richard's next CD by the way. I am surprised that the record company weasels ( this is a technical term ) don't want to release it in the fall for the big Christmas shopping season. I thought they always did that when they could. But... hey... I'm not in the biz. ( And...yes...I do miss Charlie Hunter filling us in on all this stuff with his "inside baseball" info. Hope things are going well in "Charlie Hunter World"... he's painting right? Retired? Having sex with Charlize Theron? All of the above? ). OK... gotta go.... Aloha... Bob Paterson redmolly.com outpostintheburbs.org ps.... hey Sharon... how come you got to hear the whole Sean Colvin album already? Damn... you have all the fun. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 25 Aug 2006 06:34:26 EDT From: RockinRonD@aol.com Subject: [RS] Antje Glad You Heard Her? Antje made her Long Island debut late last year at the University Cafe and her short set was so impressive much of the audience didn't care if the mainliner (whose name shall remain secret) ever came on. WSUB dj Charlie Backfish burned a copy of her raw, self produced live EP for me and I went nutz, much like the way I did when I first heard Patty Griffin's Living With Ghosts. Her new studio CD, while much more polished and pop oriented, still shows this woman's inestimable talents as a songwriter. She's coming back to the University Cafe in Stony Brook soon, co-billed with Anais Mitchell. Yowza...I'm there. After watching Antje, and yes she is hot, I poked around to see if Richard Shindell was on there and I'll be damned he was. And low and behold I think is playing the guitar I bought from him. I need Ron G. to verify it though. Ron is that the Martin CEO 4R I bought from him a couple years ago? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97dOq9ybnQ8 ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 25 Aug 2006 08:13:24 -0600 From: john cleirigh Subject: Re: [RS] Richard on You Tube! And is that my guitar? Pretty cool. This YouTube user has been adding clips from this '03 Ohio show every week. (http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=rchristophe) I'm guessing this is right after RS and Tracy Grammer both bought their sunburst Martins. Tracy plays on RH and NBW in this collection. john Jason Stanley wrote: > After watching Antje, and yes she is hot, I poked around to see if > Richard Shindell was on there and I'll be damned he was. Laurie has sung with Cliff Eberhardt and Carolanne was part of Railroad Eath? if i am not mistaken. these women have taken the NY/NJ/NE scene by storm watch for them in your neighborhood soon. I will vouch for their cd and will buy gene one if you dont like it. Hey i need a new one too Another interesting voice is Libby Johnson a little known singer songwriter whose can be heard on the soundtrack of Trust the Man... nice out of the gate ... two songs on a soundtrack only in NYC sharon busking for redmolly ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 25 Aug 2006 14:46:50 -0400 From: Rongrittz@aol.com Subject: Re: [RS] Red Molly >> when do you see three women who play Dobro, guitar, banjo and mandolin and have great harmony vocals. << Dixie Chicks. ;-) (Well, violin instead of mando, but still...)
