I have to admit, I'm warming up to the blue cast idea too. Greg S. kunigunda wrote: Heh heh....I knew I shoulda sent that note directly to Sally. Hi Bonnie, I'll ask around about parking. I'll let you know if I find a good place. It sounds like Live Bait it is. I haven't heard any dissenting opinions on that. I'm going to shoot for getting there at 6:00. A couple of years ago, we were talking about trying to meet up with each other at a show, and it reminded me of that Seinfeld episode where they were trying to find eachother at a movie theater. Here's how they tried to find each other: Elaine describing Kramer: "Have you seen a Tall Lanky Doofus with a Bird Face and Hair like the Bride of Frankenstein" Kramer describing Jerry: "A guy that's five foot eleven, he's got a big head and flared nostrils." Jerry describing George: "A short guy with glasses, looks like humpty-dumpty with a melon head." George describing Elaine: "Pretty woman, Kinda Short, Big Wall of Hair, Face like a Frying Pan" So I'll give you guys the self-description I used back then: "A 40 year-old medium-height balding guy, with a big shiny forehead and long skinny arms." I'll be wearing tan shorts and a dark blue shirt. Anyone else think they'll make it before the show? Michele? Bob? I guess if we don't see you guys before the show, I'll try to find you up by the stage after the show, like Bob suggested. Greg S. Today's the day... The weather forecast for Richard Shindell in Madison Square park is excellent... I might get here pretty early... partly just to hang out a bit... it's a nice park... I plan to be there by 5pm anyway... look for tall incredibly-handsome 40-ish white guy with planet earth on his T-shirt ( unless you're a pigeon). here's some info about local restaurants: Live Bait (http://dinesite.com/info/LegendLink#ICON_TITLE) 14 East 23rd Street New York, New York 10010-4403 ph: 212.353.2400 (http://dinesite.com/info/rstrnt-86532/#reviews) (http://dinesite.com/info/rstrnt-86532/action-map/) The atmosphere is country laid back, the crowded bar is frequented by lots of young 20-somethings, and there's some really good Southern comfort food. Start off with a sumptuous basket of corn bread, biscuits and muffins, and on to gumbo with sausage, chicken and shrimp, catfish, collard greens, or smothered pork chops. Dessert is granny smith apple tart, pecan or key lime pie. The place is owned by models and the guys love it. Visiting Live Bait, you'll find a place that dishes up Cajun and soul food dishes. Expect the average entrie to cost between $8 and $12. Eating & Drinking: Open for lunch and dinner. Details to Note: Reservations are accepted. Delivery and carryout are available. The place stays open late. Ways to Pay: Cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Diners Club ............................................................................. . ..... hmmm... wonder how that will post....and also.... Dewey's Flatiron Bar/Restaurant was established in 1996. We have created a friendly, moderately priced attitude-free, environment where our patrons eat, drink and socialize in a unique atmosphere. I might have my nephew in tow with me....he is trying to learn the acoustic guitar and I have told him to come see Richard but he lives in Connecticut and for him NYC is far away - so maybe maybe not... if I do... I might have to walk the kid back to Grand Central Station... so I might have to skip the "after-Richard" events... bummer...but looking forward to meeting some new "Richard" people...I will also try to get WFUV to mention Richard's free show sometime today... I have a fax machine and the DJs are not safe...Ha! I'm pretty sure WFUV will be mentioning the show without me reminding them anyway... hey... any chance you think Lucy might show? She lives in the city, yes??? I mean - she has little Molly to take care of - but ..hey... who knows... Springsteen showed up at John Fogerty at PNC Bank Arts last week... so I am on a bit of a "special guest star" roll. see ya...
