I couldn't read yet, but my dad drew a picture of a triplane on the side of the record that had SATRB on so I could play it easily... I believe the B side of the single I had was Sopwith Camel time. I remember Snoopy's Christmas, but I'm not positive I had that one. ah, thanks for that memory, Mike and Ron! - -Jim ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 May 2006 14:18:36 -0400 From: B Gallagher Subject: [RS] Snoopy vs. The Red Baron I had this LP! It was probably the first LP that I owned. My parents got a small Hi Fi set, either 'free' or for nominal cost, when we joined the Longines Symphonette Society. One had to buy a bunch of records from them and I chose The Royal Guardsmen 'Snoopy vs. The Red Baron' album. Longines also put out Mantovani, Herb Alpert, and some Quad recordings as I remember. My folks probably got Don Ho there too. Ha! Personally, the Christmas one was my favorite! I can at least contribute 2 RS related musings....On a recent trip to Las Vegas I had the pleasure of a (very expensive) lunch in the Fleur-de-Lys restaurant at Mandalay Bay. I couldn't keep the lyrics to the song out of my head the entire time I was there. I'm also excited to say that in 4 weeks I will be bringing home a new puppy- her name will be "Nora" ("official" name, Brighteye It's a Nor'easter). Ok, back into the shadows.... I was looking in the "Live from Folk Alley" archives and some of the past performances (like Tim O'Brien and Guy Davis) are available for download. Speaking of the Tim O'Brien show, the second set has a live version of him and his band doing Dylan's Senor which RS most likely will be recording soon on that covers album.
