It was the best RS show I've ever been to - EVER. He retains the swoonworthy crown. ;-) It was SRO at the Club Cafe in Pittsburgh. Folks were lining up at 5:15pm for 6pm doors open, so I got in line. Usually you can hear sound check going on inside, but all was quiet....so I figured either RS had already finished sound check, or hadn't arrived it....the latter turned out to be the case when he arrived at 5:55pm. Needless to say, doors did not open until 6:20pm. So it was only fair and right, after having waited in line for more than an hour, that I got a front and center seat. You know....one of the spit seats. ;-) Judd & Maggie, a brother and sister team from Frederick, MD opened. I saw them almost exactly one year ago at the club when they opened for Lucy K. They're very sweet and endearing and have a nice sound. The setlist: kenworth of my dreams summer wind, cotton dress senor (a Dylan tune) fenario waist high in the deep muddy (he didn't know it was Pete Seeger's birthday!) born in the USA (springsteen) there goes Mavis fleur de lis Mary Magdalene [new too me- not sure of title] what a way to go or maybe Acadia driftwood fishing reunion hill arrowhead are you happy now cold missouri waters [my request!] last fare [another of my requests!] transit encore: [new to me- not sure of title] come all you Texas Rangers He said a new CD will be out within a very short time - like weeks. Richard Thompson plays on two tracks. The only negative is that Rad wasn't there. :-( but :-) KarenZ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 05 May 2006 00:30:46 -0400 From: Bart Gallagher Subject: [RS] Cover Songs Adam confessed, >> I believe these songs were confirmed by the man on stage as on the new >> album: >> >> Acadian Driftwood >> Northbound 35 >> Texas Rangers >> Born in the USA >> Senor Yes, thanks Adam. But this is only five songs, and we don't know fur sure. Thought the Rons might know more. Eh, it's Cinco de Mayo. But don't fret RG. We're not really gonna have Hank Quinlan torture you with tequila. Jus' tryin' to get ya to talk. See... Doesn't anyone want to know who Hank Quinlan is??
