But I am sure even Richard is amazing on a self-proclaimed off night. > I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. At the end of the Vermont show, Richard did say with a sigh of relief, "I got through the first big of the tour. It's always the hardest, along with the last gig of the tour." But he sure was terrific. I've seen him five or six times and this was probably the best show, though a gig a couple of years ago at McCabe's in Santa Monica came close. (Hmm, and then there was that great show in a church in Lexington, Mass. a few years back with that great piano player...) As for what he perceived as a disaster, the only one goof I noticed was on Last Fare, where he brought the second version of the chorus in too soon. I guess Richard is his own toughest critic. I really appreciated the freshness of his performance, and he was a lot more polished (except for leafing through his songbook to decide what to play) than most performers are on their first gig of the tour. - -- Greg ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Apr 2006 23:12:00 -0400 From: "John Melillo" Subject: [RS] Places near Irvington Town Hall Can anyone recommend any good places to have a couple beers and eat a good meal near the theatre in Irvington?
