It's hardly surprising that he's doing songs I like. Next to his own "Last Fare of the Day," "Northbound 35" is the best (IMO) song I've heard the last couple of years. Unlike a couple of people on the list, I think Foucault's "Stripping Cane" is a tremendous album, more focused than "Miles from the Lightening" (but which I wouldn't be without). "Senor," "Mercy Street," "America," and "Famous Blue Raincoat" also get my vote for inclusion. And I'm glad he's still doing "Before You Go"; the version on Signature Sounds' "Wonderland" album doesn't seem well recorded to me. Why not one of his own songs for an encore on the new album!! ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V7 #258 ***********************************
