There was an electric, a bouzouki, and an acoustic that he mentioned buying in Argentina. The electric was very nice and he played a lot of it. All three were very nice and he mentioned that he had not played much of any of them before the show. I am not good at describing guitars. The electric had a wonderful sound. It was great hearing songs on these different guitars. Acadian Driftwood (Robbie Robertson) - This is a great song! Done on the bouzouki Ballad of Mary Magdalen - Bouzouki, nice version. I hadn't heard this live in a few years Lawrence, KS (Josh Ritter) - I am not a fan of Josh Ritter but this is a nice song. Reunion Hill Fennario Northbound 35 (Jeffrey Foucault) - - This was nice. I like Jeff Foucualt a lot. Though I was dissipointed with the album this song is on (his debut is one of my faves), "Northbound 35" is one of my favorite songs by anyone. Very nice version. Done on acoutsic. Mavis - - great version - what a great song Senor (Bob Dylan) - - on the bouzouki. I actually had never heard this song before lqst night. Cery nice and he referred to it as his favorite song at the moment. song (or cancion :) by Silvio Rodriguez (Cuban songwriter) - - beautiful even though I don't know Spanish. :) Cancion Sencilla (w/ the cutest and most charming intro ever ;) Next Best Western Che Guevara T-shirt - - on electric - one of the best versions I've heard Sitting on the top of the world (Doc Watson) - - electric. I heard him play this over the Summer and he has improved on the version. He should record this, the song suits him wonderfully. Fishing Texas rangers - - I think this was a cover but no idea of who. Last fare of the day - - on electric, great version. Transit (small issues with the lyrics here ;) - ---------------------- Hazel's House - - nice way to finish. I had never heard this live before. The uniqueness of the show made it very memorable. I want to go again tonight (a RS gig 5 minutes from me doesn't happen every day) but I can't. I may go up to Northampton or NH if time permits. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 27 Oct 2005 12:11:58 -0500 (CDT) From: Adam Plunkett Subject: Re: [RS] Re: shindell-list-digest V7 #250 E-mail the service, not Passim. Hey, I was at that show too. It was very very good. I prefer Susan's folkish stuff to the Gershwinesque material off her new album, but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed those songs as well. What a voice. And Lucy gave us a particularly heartfelt and lovely performance of "Ten Year Night". Off to see Richard in thirty minutes.... ;) --Chris - -- "We were born in a dark age out of due time (for us).
