The way I remember it is that we were heading down a path of actually getting those shirts made, and Charlie Hunter had agreed to design it for us and told us about the fleur-de-lis x tire iron idea, and there was a big revolt on the list because nobody liked the idea, so the project just kind of died because we couldn't agree on a design that we all liked. For the record, I'm wishing now that Charlie had just said "heck with y'all" and gone ahead and made the T-shirts anyway because that design sounds really cool. Forgive me if this is not really what happened, my memory is going because I do not do enough crossword puzzles or Su-do-ku. And I'm far too lazy to go read the archives to find out what really happened. This is how rumors get started. - --Sally ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Oct 2005 10:16:23 -0500 From: "kunigunda" Subject: Re: [RS] T-shirts Sally sez > For the record, I'm wishing now that Charlie had just said "heck with > y'all" and gone ahead and made the T-shirts anyway because that design > sounds really cool.> > Forgive me if this is not really what happened, my memory is going because > I do not do enough crossword puzzles or Su-do-ku. I think the idea got quaffed when Ron said he heard that R was planning on doing a T-shirt. Then we all started guessing what it might say and when we got it down to Che Guevara well, the rest is history. The Che T-shirt, of course, came several years later . . . The Che > T-shirt, of course, came several years later . . . Ok, then someone resurrected the fleur/tire iron idea a second time around...I distinctly remember it being mentioned. I guess I'm just a newbie. I noticed in November he has about a 6 day break between CA and VA. Does anyone know if he drives or flies coast to coast? Also, when I spoke to R the last time I saw him (last Feb) he said he might be back in a year. Checking the tour schedule again, does the break between November and April mean that after the November stint he won't be back on tour in the US 'til April...or does he just not book that far in advance? Anyone? Hopeful Carrie in KC ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V7 #236 ***********************************
