I had to run out so I recorded it and just now finished watching. Good for Lori. It looks like this could be a window of opportunity for her if she wants to step through, but 5 kids, with the youngest just 1 year old, I wonder if she'll want to or be able to take advantage of it. I was on Amazon checking the songlist on Faith's Fireflies to find the other 2 songs by Lori. I recognized only Stealing Kisses - does anyone know what the 3rd is? Anyway, I was surprised to see all 3 of Lori's albums available for sale on Amazon. And, I noticed a sponsored link by Signature Sounds on both the Fireflies and Bittertown cd listings: "Customers interested in Faith Hill may also be interested in Lori McKenna CD's As seen on Oprah w/ Faith Hill Buy All 4 of Lori's CD's www.signaturesounds.com " If you go there you'll see Signature is really promoting Lori's cds and the fact that she was on Oprah. As far as the album of covers, I am going to have to put my foot down and tell you guys to shut your pie holes :) So far every cover I have ever heard has been amazing and I would just about pee myself if he put more than 10 songs on the cd. That is my biggest complaint about his cd's is that he does amazing work and leaves you hanging for about 3 years before he puts out another cd. If he would just put 15 or so on this one of covers he has done in the past I could probably stand the 3 year wait. Especially since he only makes it to Texas about every 3 years as well. It may be because of my comment about his early stuff being "crap" in a Scottish accent (That was a reference to the movie So I Married an Axe murderer) but I don't think he got it. Until he started focusing on just him and his guitar I wasn't impressed but since "Somewhere Near Patterson I am hooked. I used to think John Gorka was pretty good too until I heard the cd "Dogs and Thunder" and realized he pretty much makes no sense and tends to repeat things over and over. End of rant. Jason Only have seen him twice but would gladly see him a couple dozen more. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 4 Oct 2005 15:36:18 -0700 (PDT) From: Janet Cinelli Subject: Re: [RS] Art of the Song A reminder, this is going to start in about 25 minutes! Richard talked about his song writing. They played the album cuts of "So Says" and "Transit" (from the Courier) and he played solo versions of "Che Guevera" and "Mavis" which was very cool! It was taped at the Great waters Folk Fest too, which I attended. Can't wait to see him again later this month. Anyway, I have to say with the rest of Jason's post, I almost peed myself. You called his early stuff crap and he didn't get it??!! I said "One Man's Arkansas" was "too serious" as a joke and was ridiculed--in public, in New York City. I'm guessing he got it, and said "F-- you". I should have called it a "piece of sh--" and maybe he would he would have appreciated the humor, because I really was kidding, but I was trying to be clever. Do you think he doesn't get nuance?? Maybe if I tried it in a Welsh accent? Anyway, I loved the rant--the iconoclasm (crap), the reproach (shut your pie holes) and the disdain of contemporaries (John Gorka--btw, how is he viewed on this list??). Great stuff. John McD. Ps No, I do not have a fleur-de-lis tattoo on my chest. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 4 Oct 2005 23:19:25 EDT From: FJPQ@aol.com Subject: Re: [RS] RE: Shindell Stalkers In a message dated 10/4/2005 11:14:36 PM Eastern Standard Time, jmcdonn1@optonline.net writes: Does a tattoo of a fleur-de-lis count?
