There will be an open mic beforehand. All free, and music begins around 7:30 PM. We're in seats B5 & 6, stop by and say hello if you get a chance. We ordered online, several weeks ago, and received an email saying that we got these seats, usually for members of ST, but due to an error in processing, we got 'em instead. I'd say that's a good sign. - -- Ken Yavit & Donna Ryder Glenside House Concerts Glenside, PA We're About 9 - October 8 Andrew McKnight - November 6 Alastair Moock - February 2006 Tim Grimm - April 2006 > Hey Ron A! > > I've had my Sellersville tix for months! I have just begun to perform Danny Schmidt's "Stained Glass" in public. I did it first at an open mic about 1 1/2 weeks ago, and I had lots of stumbles and mistakes. Last night I did it at another open stage and it went a lot smoother, only a couple minor stumbles. I've been doing the arpegio from the intro between EVERY verse. It just sounds better this way, and I also found that the transition from one verse to the next without the riff in between wasn't as smooth. It has gotten a great response at both events. Have you been playing it? How's that going? BTW, there is a downloadable recording of Danny's house concert up in Alaska at Whole Wheat Radio a couple weeks ago. They have the entire concert posted in two MP3 files of about an hour each. It was a GREAT concert! Just google Whole Wheat Radio and look for their house concert page. A publicist and a makeup artist had already been there for an hour, getting the singer-songwriter ready for a day of filming. Until recently, primping for camera crews was a rarity for McKenna, a stay-at-home mother of five kids, ages 1 to 16. But ever since country superstar Faith Hill recorded three of McKenna's songs including the title cut on her latest CD, ''Fireflies," hot lights, glam squads, and taping schedules have gotten quite a bit more familiar. When Hill is Oprah Winfrey's guest on Oct. 3, McKenna will sit down to chat with them both, then sing ''Fireflies" with the country star. McKenna has also taped a segment for Hill's upcoming Thanksgiving Eve special on NBC. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Records (the label Hill is on) has signed McKenna, and, on Monday, will re-release her acclaimed album ''Bittertown." Having watched most of the show by now, what a great breakthrough for Lori (a good ol' Mass. girl). But even Faith Hill doesn't sing Lori like Lori does! I just watched it and I agree, no on sings Lori better than Lori. I remember seeing her open for Richard a few years ago. She's a really great singer/songwriter. I noticed a commercial for her cd, it seems Warner Bros. is promoting it. Did she leave Signature Sounds? I'm happy for her, saw Tracy Grammer last week and she mentioned someone in the Signature "family" just made it big! Janet __________________________________ Yahoo! Didn't know Norman then. It was Falcon ridge 2001 where I first met him. Missed a major opportunity to see RonG perform with Tarcy Grammer---no wait, he missed that opportunity! I remember the guy at the door raising an eyebrow at me wanting to put "my friend who may not be here" on the waiting list of a sold out show. Later he came over to my table and said, "I took your friend off the waiting list because he's on Tracy's guest list!" It was a very Guffmanesque kind of a night, waiting, waiting and then nothing...sigh! All of the other famous Richard fans I met at FRFF 01 and/or subsequent FRFF's I have attended since. Norm, the venue in Santa Rosa is a former televengelical center. Similar to a church but with mass media and entertainment potential. It has been named for one of Santa Rosa's most popular historical figures, famed horticulturalist Luther Burbank. However, it just got a corporate sponsor and will be renamed the Wells Fargo Entertainment Center after the first of the year. Not the greatest venue, but with ticket prices that rival some of the best. Peter ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V7 #231 ***********************************
