That does not guarantee success in handling tragedies like this, but I would bet on experience over rookies in this situation. This is no place for on-the-job training. Let's just get the job done. Don't some of you feel like I do? This country is going down the tubes as far as our government goes, and by that I am referring to both parties. The Republicans are in office right now which makes them bear more responsibility, but the Dems were, and are no better in reality. Let's face it, the Mayor of N.O. and the governor of Louisiana are certainly not without blame either. Thank God for the goodness of the common folk who have pitched in so generously to help these unfortunate people. At least that gives me some hope. We need a clean sweep of government. Let's vote all of them out and start fresh! We certainly can't be any worse off. - -- Tom Huot tjhuot@comcast.net > Jason wrote: > > >> The head of Fema actually said that they didn't know that people were in > the convention center, not the superdome. BTW, I would bet that a significant (but not majority) of the country agrees with these people. That is what is truly terrifying. Even more scary is talking to people who believe it. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs, just don't try and convert me. A friend went to Louisiana with his ambulance company to help out but they've been sitting around because the people in charge won't let them do anything. They came with ambulances, trucks, supplies, etc and there they sit, twiddling their thumbs, waiting for someone in charge to get their act together! Janet PS On a lighter note, I'm going to see Terence Martin tonight. He's awesome and he just came out with a new album! Check him out. Tired of spam? Yahoo! I went to his CD party at the Turning Point and really enjoyed the show. Hopefully his wife who sings harmonies on the new CD will be there. Boy, can she sing! Enjoy it. I wish I could be there and at the Watercolor show with Tracy Grammar on 9/27 and at the Outpost in the Burbs show with Patti Larkin on 9/23.....blah, blah, blah!
