I was there also....It WAS Kevin Briody...and he DID sing the 2 songs you mentioned. I was delightfully surprised as well. I have little video clips...about 15 seconds long, which I can share with anyone who emails me...IF I am NOT breeching any ethics here.....Perhaps Scott Shindell if he is reading this ...or the list master could advise. Email me directly. I sat up front. Love Richard....his voice and playing are so beautiful but, nurse that I am, I could see the tiredness of the road on his face....but his Spirit is strong!!! These are normally just sitting out and free for the taking at Taylor guitar dealers (or you can buy a Taylor or 2 and they'll come in the mail!) - -jim colbert ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Aug 2005 09:17:21 -0400 From: Chris Foxwell Subject: [RS] "By Way of Sorrow" I've been thinking about the Lowell show this past weekend, and it occurred to me that nowhere is a live recording of Richard and Lucy singing "By Way of Sorrow" commercially available. I have the studio version on Cry3, which is very nice, but as I said in my previous e-mail, what truly makes the song for me is Richard's harmony part when it's just him and Lucy singing: the way his voice soars up while repeating "way, way" in the chorus is just pure beauty. That's the way I hear the song in my head, and I'd really like to have a recording of it. Does anyone have such a recording that they'd be willing to send me, either via CD or digitally? I'd very much appreciate it. Please contact me off-server if you can help me. Thanks, - --Chris - -- "We were born in a dark age out of due time (for us). Is it possible that the opener you're referring to is really named Kevin Briody? Did he do a couple songs entitled "Walnuts & Rice" and "While No One's Watching?" I've seen him perform and he indeed is a very talented songwriter. ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V7 #187 ***********************************
