Richard's website lists him coming to Upper Merion Concerts Under the Stars on 8/15 ( I think it's actually the 14th, since that's a Sunday). Woo Hoo! My favorite place to see him, and actually the first place I ever saw him live. The website for Upper Merion has Cheryl Wheeler listed that night, so I'm not sure if they'll be together or not. Saw Redbird Thurs PM at World Cafe Live in Philly -they were great! I'd never seen any of them before, and I was really impressed by their talent, individually and together. During intermission I went out to CD shop, and Peter Mulvey came out. He thanked me for coming to the show and asked how I had heard of/about them. I mentioned this list, since this is the first place I heard about him as well as Jeffrey Foucoult. He thought that was very cool! Richard did many songs in slightl different arangements which were all nice. The encore - Beyond the Iron Gate - was the nicest version I have heard yet. I also loved he linked "Fishing" and "Che Guevera" together. The new song was neat - it was hard to get the whole idea odf what was going on i9n it, but I liked the first listen. On another note, I saw the Jimmy LaFave band and the piano player is Rad Lorcovic. I know many here have complained at how he plays with Richard but he is perfect with LaFave. Funny Richard-esque story: The show was a double bill with the Burns Sisters and all the muscians from both bands were jamming on Woody Guthrie tunes at the end. Jimmy at one point looks back at Rad and says "Did Shindell ever get this many people on stage?" Rad then said "no and nowhere as good looking ensemble either." > > Beat me to it! I agree, tonight's show was very > very good. Richard was in > fine form, and many of his songs were performed with > intensity and passion > that rivals anything I've seen him do before. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
