For details go to >> http://www.elkoconcerts.com/newframe.htm and then click on Rex Theater at >> the top left on the screen. Just checked out the Rex. Wonder if that is a restored movie theater on the old "eastside"?. Looks like the theater is popping most nights! I probably could have walked to it from where I lived in Mt Washington years ago. They were trying to bring the area to life when I was there, but it was pretty dead save for some old antique shops. Have heard there are some very trendy restaurants there now. It is a restored movie theatre, on Carson at 15th St. Actually, I was just walking around the area yesterday after I bought my tix. It's become much more like Greenwich Village since I've moved here, with lots of neat independent cafes and used bookstores, a new age store, and yes, some of the corporates moving in like Urban Outfitters and Kenneth Cole. Honestly, I've been to the Rex twice and it is not a great venue. It's a bit run-down and the cavernous room tends to soak sound right up into the ether. So, we'll see what happens on Friday. I'll be sure to report back! - --V On Wed, 26 Jan 2005 07:07:23 -0600, kunigunda wrote: > Just checked out the Rex. Wonder if that is a restored movie theater on the > old "eastside"?. I must confess, as a GIANT fan I have never ventured to the Darkest Depths of Morder - The Vet. My Cowboy Fan (excuse me while I expel my breakfast) Brother once went there to a Cowboy game, in his Cowboy coat. Yikes! Yes the Philly Phans do have a bad rep, but The Vet is gone and ya'all better listen to Mrs. Mcnabb and behave yourselves. And how can anyone not LOVE Mrs. McNabb. Maybe there's a song there; Lovable, caring Team Mom to a bunch of rough & tough NFL players with crazed fans. Soups on. I think it is perfectly fitting (and not at all selfish, no my precious) to want to combine the Sox championship with another football championship. It's our time, baby! If the Vet is Mordor, then surely Fenway/Gillette is Minas Tirith, and New England Gondor...(ooh, I'm gonna get it for that...) Quoting Jeff Gilson : > Go Red Sox! How long until spring training? Don't rightly know. April sounds about right, I think. He said that not all Philly fans are bad; it's just that 60,000 rowdies spoil it for the 5,000 good ones.
