I think it's fair to say that we are speaking gibberish to one another. Seriously, I did not mean that as an attack, but as a commentary on how little sense we make to each other. Obviously my brand of gibberish is in the majority on this listserver, and your brand of gibberish is the majority in the country. Be satisfied with that. I'd give a hell of a lot to trade majorities with you... Well Chris, Take some solice in the fact that I do understand what you are trying to say but don't understand how you come to some of your conclusions. Same goes for you with me. Unfortunately we probably won't be changing each others minds anytime soon but it was fun while it lasted. There are definitely no hard feelings on my side and welcome the debate anytime, but it seems both of us do a pretty good job of saying things that can't really be proven. Time will tell, hind site is 20/20, yada yada. Anyway, good luck to you I am sure we will get into an argument again :) Joe wrote: "I know it probably seems like you are being ganged up on, but that is simply what happens when your views are outnumbered by such a large majority. How could we make this better for you, short of changing our views to agree with yours? We can't, but you should take comfort in the fast that if we were in certain areas of the country WE would be the ones far outnumbered." Yes you are right, especially most of Texas except one, Travis County. I could see how frustratiing it would be to be a democrat in Texas and every county but yours votes for Bush. Another thing interesting to me is how many on this list are against Bush and how many in the rec.music.makers.guitar.acoustic newsgroup is the same way. Most be something about musicians. Not sure what it is, but I am inclined to think it would be pretty boring listening to songs that had the same kind of singing as Richard's but were about Republican conservatism. Like I said before, there are plenty of things about Republicans that piss me off, so I can't be all bad. :) Everyone have a good weekend, I am off to go hunting this weekend. (Hopefully that doesn't start another debate war. :)) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 02 Dec 2004 13:40:13 -0500 From: "scott shindell" Subject: [RS] Che T-Shirt -- Your Questions Answered I forgot to mention a few things: - - The smallest size we have is Large. - - Make checks payable to Richard Shindell. - - PayPal will work, too. I don't hate Bush either (however, I don't love him - no one is perfect), but an alarming amount of people I think truly do HATE him. Perhaps Kerry would have won the election if he could have turned the election towards voting for him rather than against Bush. But that would have required him running on his Senate record which is flimsy and far out of the mainstream for the USA in the year 2004. Anyway, for better or worse, we're all stuck with Bush for 4 more years. Lisa Davis - Group W Bench (Hey, those are our president's initials)- Alice's Restaurant - "Kid. Have rehabilitated yourself?" I love that song. Jason - I thought what you said about how you may not agree with Shindell's politics but that he writes songs in a way that still moves you - something like that - was exactly the way I look at being a fan of his. Man, I wish I had time to respond to more. This was a somewhat of a crappy little post. And if two people, two people do it, in harmony, they may think they're both faggots and they won't take either of them. And three people do it, three, can you imagine, three people walking in singin' a bar of Alice's Restaurant and walking out. They may think it's an organization. And can you, can you imagine fifty people a day, I said fifty people a day walking in singin' a bar of Alice's Restaurant and walking out. And friends, they may thinks it's a movement.
