What can I say/ the set list was pretty much what he's been doing and reported on the list. I'll let the detailed of you report the exact set list. Had the drummer Mcdermott? and LIncoln on upright base with him. the audience while enthusiastic, was a little hyper. Some stupid heckling. when he came back form intermission, people were still filing into their seats( would of made them vanish forever if I could) as he played a pretty subdued version of Arrowhead- one of my favorites among many. During the encore, when he was doing Transit, he forgot some words to the beginning of the last verse, started singing Sister Maria and stopped and then you heard 2 dozen people shouting out ... tightened the bolts of the spare! After the show, he signed CD's for about 35 people and took his time with each and everyone. i showed him the T-shirt I made with his picture on it from Joe's pub and a line from Courier on it, which he thought was pretty cool. At least I didn't babble too much. I'm so in awe of his talent as a musician and performer. All I can say is that going to see him is almost like a religious experience to me ( ya I know I'm nuts, but some of you understand) One QUestion form you rs hardcores out there? Richard spent quite a bit of time going form DADGAD to standard tuning a few times back and forth. Whey open he have another guitar with him- too much has$le to travel with? anyone know? mary ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 31 Oct 2004 21:53:07 EST From: deanasherry@aol.com Subject: [RS] Re: shindell-list-digest V6 #231 Oh...he was directly political besides the music eh? Great! I guess it's time. I wish I'd heard fishing...but I am so happy to have seen him here in California. He said he thought he'd be back in 12 years. I hope it will be sooner. Thanks for the comments...it's good to think of him in the world, and those of us who are listening. I assume we will all be voting on Tuesday. Happy Halloween! It was great, Richard seemed really comfortable, joking and talking a great deal about the making of the songs, pretty interesting stuff. We had pretty good seats and unfortunately a very drunk woman was in front of me, being stupid. Towards the end, she yelled out something about him wanting someone to vocalize with. He shook his head and I was wondering if he was afraid that she would try and jump up on the stage! Didn't something like that happen to him awhile ago? While I was disappointed he didn't play "Whipporwill" I was very happy that he played "America" my favorite Paul Simon song. I hope someday that song finds its way onto a future album of his. I could've done without hearing "AYHN" but I guess since it was the day before Halloween, he felt he had to. He kinda flubbed that one too! A great concert! That is now known as the Soy Bomb episode based on the guy who had "Soy Bomb" written on his chest who had rushed Bob Dylan.
