It pops the locks but sets the alarm off when you open the doors. And before anyone whines ask any car thief and they will tell you how to get into any car. I had an Audi Quatro and the battery ran flat and everything was in lockdown mode. It was on a trailer to go back to the factory dealer to be opened and a local car thief said he'd open it for #50 ( $70 at the time) as it was going to cost me over #200 I agreed and he opened it for me. Also Richard never said anything to me Ron. It was on the live recording from the passim club I have on which Richard sings 90% of the songs from the new album and yes they are great especially the ones with Lucy K. Terence has been mentioned here before, and has become a favorite of mine as of late. I personally find Terence's songs quite appealing overall- your mileage may vary. But for five bucks... I saw Terence open a few shows for Kelly Joe Phelps a couple years ago and then caught him with Jeffrey Foucault as part of the Falcon Ridge Preview tour a little while back. Good songwriter and he has a nice, laid back personality on stage. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Here's what I've been listening to lately, along with some blues and Rock of all ages: Cry, Cry, Cry was the first record I put on after the loss of my cousin Charles Gallagher, age 38 to diabetes. Charles lived in Shohola, PA. Chris Smither - Train Home Classic Smither on the cover tune, "Outside In", and "Lola", a real good cover of "Desolation Row" with Bonnie Raitt. And "Crocodile Man" played and sung as if Chris wrote it himself. Saw Chris at The Brokerage. The Kennedys - Stand Great take of Dave Carter's "When I Go". "Stand" is also an outstanding song. Saw Pete and Maura at the University Cafi. Caroline Aiken - Unshaken Another Long Island expatriate, sort of , she lives in Georgia now. Caroline ain't no girl strummer, she sings with a lot of soul and plays a mean 12 string. Her "This Must be Love" sounds like impassioned Joni meets Michael Hedges. Saw Caroline at the University Cafi. Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer Great songwriter gone to a fine high country where the best songs are sung. Terence Martin - Waterproof If you like RS you'll probably like Terence. He plays guitar and some harmonica. Kind of low key. Lucy Kaplansky - The Red Thread Excellent new one from Lucika, features the highly talented guitarist Jon Herington (Steely Dan), and our own RS on "I Had Something". Saw Lucy at The Brokerage. Louise Taylor - Saw Louise at a house concert last month. Nice lady, nice evening. Check out Velvet Town for something a little bit different. Richard Shindell - Vuelta Different than his solo acoustic shows that featured most of the new songs and instrumentally refreshing as well. But needs a few more listens in order to form a more perfect opinion. Last seen at The Brokerage. Gotta Serve Somebody - The Gospel Songs of Bob Dylan Unbelievable compilation of great gospel singers. I put it on while doing some remodeling work at home and did nothing but sit there in my tool belt 'till it was over. And I'm not a holy roller. Blackmore's Night - Fires at Midnight Yes, that Blackmore, Ritchie, playing some very good guitar, lots of acoustic, and electric too. Slickly produced vehicle for his girlfriend, Candice Night who sings and wrote most of the lyrics. They also cover "The Times They are a Changing". With faux medieval album art - merry ol' English scenes, a castle with torches, hooded robed monks, cats and fire. Oh and the following liner notes, and I'm not kidding - "Do you believe in destiny..." - Oooh. Little Feat - Kickin' It at the Barn Their latest studio disk. Sounds similar to their other recent stuff, which isn't a dig. But, as Lowell said (about the future of R 'n' R) "It'll be the same old crap warmed over." Last seen at the Patchogue Theater. Best of Jazz - Ken Burns film compilation A jazz primer with many artists/standards. Saw some free jazz at the North Shore Library. I mean structured jazz at no cost.
