He also confessed that he doesn't think >much of Tori's version. Ha! I rest my case. ( I liked the Jennifer Warnes cover too. Her album that "Famous is on is ALL Leonard Cohen covers, by the way, what's it called? Hmmm. I have it here somwhere). Thank you Amy. I hope I get to hear the Richard version my self someday. From: Mary Mccarthy marycatz@earthlink.net > I apologize in advance for the length of this post, but couldn't make it >any smaller. Mary, don't apologize. First, the post wasn't that long. Second, it was a great post. It had you and Richard in it, and an evil Wall Street guy who turned out to maybe not be so evil at the end ( but probably actually is) and it was cute and sweet and stuff. My guess is that Richard is probably very happy that there are people who want to have their picture taken with him after a show. He is still in the phase of his career where he is probably grateful for each and every fan. And he probably loves signing Cds and especially loves hearing that his music has meant something to you. There may come a phase later on where there will just be too many people for him to sign and pose with everybody after a show. I used to get a chance to chat with Dar Williams after each show that I went to see ( pretty much all of them in NYC area), but now I can't cause theres a big crowd... and I already had my turn. And there's no way in hell that Bruce Springsteen can sign Cds after a concert. But when I see him interviewed it's still clear that he gives a great deal of thought to his fans and whether or not they will like his next record. I'd like to see Richard have about 10% of the success of Bruce. That way Richard could be modestly rich and famous and I might still have a chance at getting decent seats to go see him. Might happen. Look at Jewel. Look at John Mayer. Look at Shawn Colvin . If the stars were to align just right, Richard could definitely have a hit record. k...bye...bob paterson ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V6 #71 **********************************
