You gotta be careful with that "ripped from > the headlines" stuff. I mean, as heartfelt as Lucy's "Land of the Living" is, > it sure seems like old news by now. (Out of curiosity, anyone ever hear how much the downloads of this ever raised?) Topical songs are usually rather ephemeral; I don't think that's necessarily true of I am but none the less, it sounds to me like the new one would not have benefited from its inclusion. But I know there are a large quantity of Tracy fans on this list, and those that aren't yet should be, so there you go. I can't promise it will be as great a show as her co-bills with Richard (although I STILL haven't had the opportunity to see them play together, so I suppose technically I don't know for certain...), but it will be a pretty incredible concert all the same. I promise.] Hi all, So for whatever reason, I haven't posted to this or any list in eons, but I'm heaving myself out of the depths of obscurity now for a very worthy motive -- to invite (read: beg) you all to come to Tracy's show in Middletown, CT on April 14 at 8pm. Here are 6 excellent reasons to do so, which will undoubtedly convince you to drop whatever you're doing that night and flock in hordes to Middletown: Reason 1 - She's playing at the Wesleyan World Music Hall, a lovely and intimate venue that holds 130 people. Reason 2 - Tickets are a scant, measley, miniscule $10 ($7 for students...). Reason 3 - She never ever ever plays in central Connecticut and we're sick of tired of going to New York and Massachusetts to see her. Reason 4 - Middletown is just 1-2 hours from Northampton, New York, Boston, Vermont, and Providence -- what could be easier???? Reason 5 - Ron G has practically sworn a solemn oath to come all the way up from freakin' New Jersey, and you wouldn't want to be outdone by him, would you? Reason 6 - We desperately need this concert to sell out in order to a.) repay the money that was borrowed in order to fund it in the first place, and b.) convince Tracy and other artists to come back and play here! Tickets can be purchased by calling the Wesleyan Box Office at (860) 685-3355. Ordering early has the added bonus of giving me one less reason not to have a heart attack about this show, but you're free to call whenever you want :-) Hope to see you there....
