Similar to the "local musicians" part, right? Not the "Argentina" part as Graceland's theme was primarily South African. I'm not sure how "local" Linda Ronstadt and the trumpet section, rounded out by Jon Faddis, Alan Rubin, Earl Gardner and Ron Brecker were to S.Africa at the time! _________________________________________________________________ Find and compare great deals on Broadband access at the MSN High-Speed Marketplace. http://click.atdmt.com/AVE/go/onm00200360ave/direct/01/ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Feb 2004 11:19:38 EST From: Patience9@aol.com Subject: [RS] yesterday's list I didn't get one either on AOL > That happens sometimes; often with folks who get their list via digest. > Anyway, y'all, if you think you haven't received a Shindell-list message that > other ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Feb 2004 11:28:51 -0500 From: Rongrittz@aol.com Subject: Re: [RS] yesterday's list/AOL members. >> I didn't get either one on AOL << AOL has recently launched its latest version, AOL 9.0. Among its many features is enhanced spam protection, which keeps more unwanted email out of your inbox. The downside is that many messages you actually want to receive may be inadvertently sent to your spam folder. You can help ensure that you continue to receive Shindell-list messages by adding the list's email address to your AOL address book. Just follow these simple steps: 1) Click on the "Add Address" button to the right of this message. 2) A window will open that includes several contact or address fields; the Shindell-list e-mail address should already be filled in. You do not have to complete any other fields. 3) Click on the "Save" button, and you're done. Shindell-list emails will continue to make their way to your inbox, and not your spam folder. You may want to add us to your address book now, even if you haven't upgraded to AOL 9.0 yet. This will ensure that you continue to receive your messages without interruption, should you choose to upgrade. And I wouldn't offer some self promotion here if it wasn't at least vaguely Richard-related: I'm going to be playing Sunday March 14th here in Bellefonte (my sets are normally mostly originals) backed by Doug Anderson, who was a member of the Razzy Dazzy Spasm Band in Bethlehem PA circa '78/79, which as the die-hards know, included both a young Mr. Shindell and a young Mr. Gorka. (And Dr. Russ Rentler, for you real trivia buffs.) Show is free; we often give tips to local charities but that hasn't been discussed yet. I don't recall there being anyone very close to me geographically on the list, but drop me an e-mail offlist if you need any details. Should be fun! jim smack dab in the middle of PA and somewhere near Mount Nittany ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Feb 2004 13:16:55 -0800 (PST) From: adam plunkett Subject: Re: [RS] New CD Lineup I am going to have to disagree....I have heard maybe 4 or 5 covers the last few times I have seen Richard and I think "Waist Deep" was by far the best of the lot including "Farewell". But that may be because I think it's one helluva song. Though, I think I have different tastes as I tend not to like the covers on his album. I have heard many people gush over his versions of "My Love Will Follow You" or whatever its called...I personally can't listen to the track at all. With all that said, I will take what I can get but think Muddy would also fit the muscians that have been rumored to be on the album.
