Most of the CD is pretty much done however. I've heard the latest mixes (as of a few weeks ago), and it sounds great. Very cohesive, all the songs fit well together. I think there are eleven, with one cover. There's also a new song, Hazel's House, which is simple and pure and lovely. And when will it be released? No idea. When and if you have a track listing that can be published, we'd sure appreciate that - just the track listing could start a good week's worth of discussion. Also, though it has absolutely nothing to do with anything, the line I quoted reminded me of a bit of business from 'Animal Crackers:' Capt. Spaulding: How much would you charge to run into an open manhole? Ravelli: Just the cover charge. Gene F. (who encourages Richard to say the secret word and we'll all pay him $15. The secret word, of course is 'release') _________________________________________________________________ Say good-bye to spam, viruses and pop-ups with MSN Premium -- free trial offer! http://click.atdmt.com/AVE/go/onm00200359ave/direct/01/ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Feb 2004 22:55:31 EST From: Rongrittz@aol.com Subject: Re: [RS] Richard / Marx, but definitely not Richard Marx >> When and if you have a track listing that can be published, we'd sure appreciate that - just the track listing could start a good week's worth of discussion. << Based on stuff we know and stuff we can surmise, here's what it looks like. I would have >>preferred America as the cover. << Re: 'St. Dolores,' it seems that Richard has chosen to pay tribute to Dave Carter not by covering one of his songs, but by writing a verse inspired by Dave in the marvelous 'So Says The Whippoorwill.' I also think that 'America' and 'I Am' are both songs that have passed through the repertoire in late 2001 and early 2002, and may be seen as less than timely in 2004. 'Waist Deep,' unfortunately, is a song that is once again quite timely, and I think that Richard is using it to make a very specific point, and a comparison to the time it when was written. Both choices, I feel, show the impeccable sense of judgment of material, his own and that of others, that Richard has brought to all of his previous CDs. Not that two covers would be such a bad thing. Gene F. _________________________________________________________________ Dream of owning a home?
