I was listening to Richard's version of Charles Lyonhart's "Shades of Black, Shades of Blue" today, and decided to once again do a little digging to find the full story of the song.  I've always known that it was about musician/producer Thomas Jefferson Kaye, but not much more.

So I found this page, which not only tells the story in Lyonhart's own words, but also has an .mp3 of the original recording.  Richard's, too, for those of you who've never heard it on the now-unavailable "Spring" EP.
