Hello Everyone....

     Wow...I have been gone...and then lurking...but I am now popping
my little head head up out of God's little wack-a-mole machine to ask
whether the members of this list know about:

     Richard Shindell
     Clare Muldaur
     Sanctuary Concerts
     Union Village Methodist Church
     1130 Mountain Avenue
     Berkeley Heights, New Jersey

     Doors open @ 7:30pm,,, Tickets $20.00


      So...has anybody been to one of these "sanctuary"
concerts before. I believe they are being run by the same
folks who have been doing a series of folk concerts out
of the Watchung Arts Center. I called the number once but
got a answering machine. There is a website...

     Looks pretty good, and I could use a Richard fix... but I
don't know whether it might be sold out. I will try and scoop
up a ticket later... but thought I'd post it here. If anyone else 
is going... you should say so and we can say hello and stuff
at the show... or not. Whatever.

     As long as I have delurked....

1. What the hell is the story with Richard selling his guitars?
Richard is not planning a Cat Stevens or anything... is he?

2. If someone on this list is still on the Dar List... could you 
send me directions on how to get on the Dar List again. I went
to DarWilliams.net and followed the directions there... and it 
didn't work. I'm guessing the people on the Dar list are
probably missing my witty banter.


     And... oh yeah... the charming Susan Werner is at
Outpost In The Burbs on Friday, Oct. 24th. Susan is 
great... I'd bet cash money that any Richard fan would
at least enjoy Susan. I myself would like to marry her.

Nah, just a conscious decision to trim the collection a bit.  I think his 
self-imposed policy is now that each time he buys a new one, he sells an old one. 
 Not to worry, it's not like he's going to change his name and go live on a 
mountain somewhere.

I think you have to send mail to: majordomo@world.std.com with the message:

Um, you don't want to make that bet.  Not with me, anyway.  Susan's brand of 
"cabaret folk" has never done a thing for me.

RG, looking forward, though, to a bunch of great RS shows over the next few 
weeks.

I'd be curious to know what you all might think of Clare Muldaur . . .
she's Geoff Muldaur's daughter and the demo I've heard is very
reminiscent of Maria Muldaur (Geoff's ex-wife but not Clare's mother).

On a sad note, I awoke today to news of Elliott Smith's death, apparently
by self-inflicted knife wounds. Elliott, you might recall, won an Oscar a
number of years ago for his music in "Good Will Hunting".
