For one, do it right, and watch revenues from the site start rolling in. I know the website sales probably aren't Richard's main source for income (I hear he does very well selling his own home-knitted underwear ;) ), but it always helps to have something nifty online. Here's a paragraph from web marketing guru Brendon Sinclair's company site (www.tailored.com.au) that sums it up nicely: "Know what you want. Know what you want the site to do. Have an understanding of how the web can help your buisness. Know the basics.[...] Don't get a web site because you think you should. Get a web site because it will help your business. Allocate some resources to it and watch it grow." So maybe it doesn't all apply to this case, but it's a good thought either way. I'll stop boring you all now. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out of all this! ~Jens ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Oct 2003 08:37:12 EDT From: RockinRonD@aol.com Subject: [RS] Richard's Early Years Actually, I think Richard may actually own the rights to the records he made under the Shanachie Label. If there's product to be had, it may well be in his hands. I'm wondering if Signature might reissue those earlier records under the Signature Sounds label, much the way Razor & Tie reissued Dar's "Honesty Room," which was originally made under the Waterbug Records label. Scott, do you have any information on this? TheOtherRon ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V5 #231 ***********************************
