Hi Jim, who is somewhere near Bellefonte, PA. I'm somewhere in Hartlepool, England. I was on this list a while ago but had to drop off as there was no time for me to take part properly. Anyway, My first RS introduction was by a guy called Neil Pearson who runs Fish Records in England www.fishrecords.co.uk and it was the Somewhere near Paterson album with, I think the first song was You Stay Here. Since then I've more or less completed the back cat but have yet to see Richard live. I would also be very hard pushed to pick a fave song as each plays it's part depending on the mood I'm in at the time of playing. As for the signature footer, I, in fact the whole family follow Hartlepool United Football Club which is our local footie team ( you Americans call it Soccer ?) and Neale Cooper is our Manager / coach. In other word the boss man. The "Barmy Army" as we are known are the loyal band of fans who get up at un godly hours and travel for many hundreds of miles every other Saturday ( generally) to support the team. Only to travel home again ready for work the next day. Hence we must be" Barmy", mad, stupid etc. Tonking is a localised word for giving someone a "Damn good thrashing old boy" and Grimsby was the other football team who got a good thrashing that night. Hope that clears that up. Anyway, go on check out the site, www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk Take care, Alan Teather ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 7 Oct 2003 15:07:36 +0200 From: "Paul Mepschen" Subject: [RS] covers What about Dylan's Every Grain of Sand? I'm not a christian by far, to be sure, but this is a great song and Richard is (a christian, I mean), so. - -- In the fury of the moment I can see the Master's hand In every leaf that trembles, in every grain of sand -- Paul of the Netherlands ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 07 Oct 2003 12:56:59 -0400 From: Wchmelir@aol.com Subject: [RS] a reason for northeastern living Hello all, One of you recently pointed out the only solid reason I've ever heard for living in the northeast rather than in the west. The reason: you get to see Shindell shows all the time with minimal travel involved. Hmmm... Now let's see.... Shindell live all of the time or 300 days of sunshine per year... umm.. Richard, I'm glad you release CD's, buddy. You're my favorite, but I guess I'll see you when I see you.
