Just one day after I made reference to him in a post ("If California slides in to the ocean, like the mystics and statistics say it will" is from his song "Desperados Under the Eaves"), singer/songwriter Warren Zevon finally succumbed to cancer yesterday at the age of 56. Greene James, He was just here in central Mass. I saw him last Thursday night, and the date is still posted (9/4): http://www.wachusettvillageinn.com/specialevents/village He had a Taylor jumbo and a Johnson uke. Made it very clear that it was not "a big Johnson." :-) The audience enjoyed his humor, and his playing was pretty cool. Thanks for the church info. I checked it out. Looks perfect if 900 attendees is enough. I didn't see any info on renting it out tho. I wonder where I can find a promoter. hope this isn't a dupe post - having pc email probs. > My husband is an arts/entertainment writer at the Kansas City Star. We have plenty of venues out here and are beyond willing to promote the show..it just isn't working! We've been trying for some time, working with Drake (in the past) and now with FLeming trying to draw him out here again for a tour...we just haven't been successful as of this point. We're working on it...he has to come out here at some point!! _________________________________________________________________ Get a FREE computer virus scan online from McAfee. http://clinic.mcafee.com/clinic/ibuy/campaign.asp?cid=3963 ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V5 #191 ***********************************
