Indeed a Scottish treasure, beautiful voice and killer flatpicker but sometimes a bit too political in the latter part of his career for me. And Mike is dead on to recommend Handful of Earth- amazing album. I'm also fond of No More forever, which I think was his first and is mostly pretty raw takes on traditional songs. Trivia fact for ya- Dick is the designer and "tech guy" for his own web site... jim colbert ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Jun 2003 11:37:48 -0400 From: "Gene Frey" Subject: [RS] So? Well, I certainly ain't heard nuffink, but let's recap the potential song list: Before You Go I Am Grey/Green The Last Fare of the Day Che Guevara T-Shirt The Island Ocean View Marching to Fenario Hideous Grin (which RS told me at the Knitting Factory is NOT dead) I'd also be surprised if he doesn't include a Dave Carter cover, but I'd bet that "Farewell to St. Dolores" might get held for the official tribute CD. Considering Richard usually enters in a few covers, sounds like a full album right there. I can't wait - I have yet to hear any of these new tunes. Falcon Ridge and Boston Folk Fests are coming up though!
