Pleasure of the harbour... I need to get that on CD. What a nice album. > > John Denver actually wrote and sang some nice songs. PPM - 'Leaving on a Jet > Plane' is one. 'Big Feather Bed' isn't bad either; hey I'm a family guy. > I was listening at the time to Harbour Lights concert, which is actually pretty darn good... I think the sticker saying 2 hours of acoustic Denver is a bit of a misnomer, it's a full band but it is definately an acoustic feel and the guitars are certainly wood and with holes in them... he he... but it's a disc I don't apologize for listening to. For people roughly my age, as I just said on our guitar list, Denver was kind of viewed more as an "entertainer..." and people forgot that he wrote some darn pretty songs. Now, RS related... I was trying to picture Richard doing a John Denver song and just plain couldn't. Maybe one of the covers- me and my uncle, darcy farrow, even el paso, something like that. jim ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 4 Apr 2003 8:25:07 -0600 From: Subject: Re: Re: [RS] war and more Tom, Intersting that you express your opinion in public and then close off further public discussion. For the record, the reason that I put "good old days" in quotes is that they were not. I was around then too. It's endorsed on the back by none other than RS: "This is a wonderful album...full of soul, full of grace, overflowing with gems." IMHO I concur, nice cd, a breath of fresh air. Geoff even plays the ocarina on it. Wasn't there a somewhat comical reference to somebody playing an ocarina a while back (senior moment, can't come up with it). Geoff operates an enterprise in Cambridge, MA called the CanTab Lounge, I gotta get over there one day. Anybody else remember making long chains from can tabs way back when?? I do not mind expressing my opinion on this list. I just do not want the list to become the "war-list" if you know what I mean.
