FYI, James Keelaghan did "last night I had the strangest dream" as an encore Saturday. Now if we think really hard, maybe we can stop the rain. No rain, no rain, no rain... Just watched woodstock diary on trio or bravo or something...) keep off the towers... jpc somewhere near delirium ...and it's one two three what're we fightin' for another Bush got another war... ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 25 Mar 2003 08:45:28 EST From: Patience9@aol.com Subject: [RS] going, going, gone I am going to both Iron Horse and New Haven shows. > Anyone have two tickets for the Iron Horse? Dij` vu all over again.< Personally, I'm very much in agreement with the aims of this war. I think it is unfortunately very necessary and very evil at the same time. The line in "The Things That I Have Seen" that really resonates with me right now is "This MORBID FASCINATION with the things that I have seen". With wall to wall 24-hour news, it's hard to stay away from the war coverage. I'm a soldier and am very interested to know how the war is progressing and to know what the units my friends are serving in are doing. But I feel it to be almost sacrilegious to watch the coverage. To actually be entertained by war. What a concept. That's what the TV networks are selling, and viewership is way up. It especially tares my wife up knowing that could be me over there at some point. I'm sure she sees my face when they show pictures of POWs. Anyway, I'm limiting my viewing to just trying to find out the facts about the progress. It seems to me that some people seem to be trying to replace their not serving in the military with almost a sense of duty to watch the coverage constantly. I guess to try to feel the pain of the men and women that are there? I don't know. I guess I never really paid attention to "The Things That I Have Seen". It's never been my favorite song, but man, I thing Richard hit the nail on the head with the line about "Morbid Fascination". Bill Chmelir - --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
