I noticed Paddy's Green Shamrock Shore is on a Mel Bay beginning dadgad guitar book in the music store one time, incidentally. The Germans had the Tiger and Panzer tanks, both of which were larger than the American Sherman. The Tiger was the larger of the two. What does "Abelard and Heloise" in Nora refer to in history? I'll have to check out Al Stewart. I'm not really familiar with his music. Which CD, if only one, would you recommend for a history buff? Bill Ft. The quick and dirty story of Abelard and Heliose: Abelard was a 12th Century philosopher and priest. Heliose was his pupil. They secretly married and had a child named Astrolab. Her family was upset that they had married and had Abelard castrated. Afterwards, Heliose and Abelard maintained a long corresondence. It's a fascinating story. IMHO Modern Times is far and away the best, on the other hand, Past Present & Future has the classic "Roads to Moscow." (cited here.) More recently that "Between the Wars" is 100% history. I happen to find it cold. If i had gotten my act together to create the ultimate AS compilation disk I'd send you one, but of course, I haven't! lisa ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Jan 2003 22:07:17 -0500 From: Jeff Bernstein Subject: Re: [RS] Tigers I thought the Tiger referred to Arkan and his paramilitary unit.
