We are all in shock More info regarding his untimely death will be uploaded to their site within afew hours. I am truly sorry for the loss to the folk world we are going to miss you Dave . Humbly numb Chris Darling Us Folk http://www.WMPG.org Portland, Maine USA ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 20 Jul 2002 13:54:52 EDT From: Bobdog25nj@aol.com Subject: [RS] Dave Carter... a great loss Hey.... Just thought I'd ad my comments to everyone else's. What a great loss to the folk music community the passing of Dave Carter represents. How sad it is to lose someone like Dave so young. I called WFUV and they already knew. John Platt was scheduled to have Dave and Tracy as his in-studio guests ( on tape ) Sunday morning. Don't know whether this will still happen but I'm guessing they will play the tape of the interview and perhaps ad some additional comments. Anton Peters played a Dave and Tracy song and said some nice words this morning on WFDU - FM. ( Jerry Tracy was off this week ). If anyone has an e-mail address or a snail-mail address where people can send letters and cards and whatever - maybe you could post it? Is this a good idea? Alan Lomax passed away too. Great chronicler of folk and country music. But he was 87... still sad but not in the same way. Sad day for people who love music. Let us all play our favourite cd and toast the great man himself. A sad, sad day indeed. Such a loss to the music community. I am just so happy they were able to share their beautiful music to as many people as they were able to while he was here with us. Peace to you Dave...and deepest sympathies to Tracy, the family at Signature Sounds, and Biff Kennedy, their manager and a friend of mine. ~Jennifer http://www.oregonlive.com/entertainment/oregonian/index.ssf?/xml/story.ssf/html_standard.xsl?/base/entertainment/102716620231342.xml ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V4 #208 ***********************************
