I was so looking forward to going to this until I realized that I will be up at New Bedford for Summerfest! : ( Last year we went to see Richard there and it was great, very casual and a beautiful night. Local singer/songwriter Kathy Kreger will open (she's great, definitely worth seeing). Bring a blanket or beach chair, some wine, soda and snacks and have a great time. RIchard played last year and Lucika will play in August. Pray for nice weather. See you there. Sadly, I won't be attending d&t this weekend, as I must scrounge and save up for apartment hunting at the end of this month! But I'll be at Falcon Ridge(yay!). Are many listers heading up there this year? - --V - -- Lex: You wanna tell me what happened last night? Clark: It was just a stupid prank. Lex: You were tied to a stake in the middle of a field. Our former lister Lee Wessman's family have put together a CD of his original songs; I received the copy that Lee's sister in law sent me yesterday and have given it a couple listenings now. Sound quality varies song to song; they're mostly from cassettes... but it's definately listenable, and a very nice tribute. Lee had a very fluid guitar style, with some fills and embellishments that I think shindellisters would appreciate. His songs, like his editorials (and posts here,) are a mix of pathos and humor. I wish I could draw a parallel, but I really can't think of one offhand. Discs are available for $20. Sales of the CD go directly to the Wessman Family Memorial fund. I'm planning on bringing my 5 year old daughter, a fervent RS fan, along to this one, since she's not ready for prime time. Anyone going? With kids?! If so, look for a sunburned but happy fan with an even happier RS fan in tow--kind of like Mini-Me.
