He was playing guitar 2-3 years ago, a little Yamaha FG-Jr. and he remembered chords pretty well. But then came sports! You should try Boston and Fenway Park sometime, too. He is actually a little put out by being on the "Yankees." But he has good friends on the team and the coach he was with through tee ball (a good one). His interest in RS is no doubt influenced by dad, but he certainly chooses RS and other stuff as well. In fact I had bought 5 or 6 Couriers for Christmas and when he saw the stack he did ask for his own. When we are in the car and Richard is playing, they actually listen and sing instead of horsing around in the back seat. They are good friends. Garnet wrote a song about Greg. They did a gospel number together which was quite cool when I saw them. Juts bought Greg's new album - fabulous. - -Adam - -----Original Message----- From: jim colbert To: shindell-list@smoe.org Sent: 4/9/02 9:53 AM Subject: [RS] garnets are red, gregs are brown > I went to see Garnet Rogers and Greg Brown in Berkeley on Saturday night. If he sees kissing on TV, he says "uuugh, yuk," and turns his head. Emily is 10, and like somebody stated a couple of weeks ago, her interest in Brittany has waned. The Back Street Boys rule, she got to see them not long ago in Boston. But like I said, they're quiet and listening to Richard, and Mary Magdalen is her favorite for whatever reason. I think everybody will be excited that Richard will be appearing sooo close to home in July. <> Oh Jim, Uuuugh, yuk. Yes, Garnet actually played and sang with Greg for more than half of Greg's act, it was amazing. During the final encore, The Water is Wide, a beautiful soprano voice arose form the audience to harmonize. The singer was an attractive salt and peppered hair woman in a gorgeously brilliant red shirt, none other than this list's beloved Joan Baez.
