Hey, I sent a version of this to Lucy Kaplansky's list today, so if you're on both, don't get caught in that feeling of deja vu. - ---- Hey, I sent a version of this - YIKES!!! DEJA VU!!! haha... ok, seriously now.... One of the nice perks of attending our Grassy Hill barn shows (like this Sunday afternoon upcoming, where we have ELLIS PAUL w/Amy Speace at 3pm in Lyme CT! Email info@grassyhill.org for reservations and directions on that) is that you get to pick up a free copy of ACOUSTIC LIVE IN NYC, the monthly newsletter published by Richard Cuccaro of Fast Folk Cafe fame. It's very professional, crammed with great listings, articles, pictures, reviews and so forth. You can learn more about it at http://www.acousticlive.com/ - and probably pick up a copy in most of the metro area's venues. The reason I'm posting about it here (besides the excuse to plug that Grassy Hill show, did I mention Ellis Paul Sunday at 3pm? hehe) is that right now Richard is writing most of the articles himself... but he'd be delighted to receive submissions from the kind of intelligent, passionate, articulate folks who populate Shindell-list. (see, if you're comparing, I did change a word...) You might describe your favorite venue, or review a new folk release, or interview a performer, or who knows. It's a great opportunity to see your name in print and help out the folk community in greater New York. If you're interested, or if you already have something you think Richard would be interested in, email him at riccco@earthlink.net (note that spelling!). See you this Sunday at Grassy Hill! tmn ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 8 Feb 2002 16:56:14 -0600 From: "Adam Watson" Subject: [RS] Beatle Bob and STL show Re: "I wish I could hear the conversation between Richard and Beatle Bob." On my way out the door I heard Richard say to Beatle Bob: "Nice haircut." Anyone from Missouri going to the Cedar Rapids, IA show on 4/11? Cedar Rapids is only about 3 hours from Northeast Missouri, about as far as the St. Louis show was from me. I'm curious to hear something (anything) about the venue.
