Set list: Courier Sparrow's Point (A request I got in before the show) Sonora's Death Row Beyond the Iron Gate Before You Go Wysteria Arrowhead (said he wrote it for his grandfather - I didn't know that) Reunion Hill I Am (First time I've heard it - I thought it was wonderful) Shades of Gray Are You Happy Now Lazy Abuelita Fishing Kenworth Transit America (Simon & Garfunkel - a stunning version. Man, could he have easily written this song?) Next Best Western (Encore) He refused (or should I say "sidestepped") several requests for "By Now". And, yea, he signed my "Sonora Sessions" Cd, "Johnny Starr". Off to the show in Austin tomorrow. But I quibble. The show at the Duck was pretty good, although to my mind RS did not seem as "on" as when I saw him there about a year ago. His version of America was sweet though. I had hoped he would be touring behind a new album, ie album of new material. Any idea of when to expect one? Did pick up the live CD though and am looking forward to digesting it. mrsimnoc@blkbox.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 30 Jan 2002 00:57:49 -0500 From: patrick t power Subject: [RS] Covers I was listening to Mary Lou Lord's "Live City Sounds" today -- she does a terrific rendition of Richard Thompson's "1952 Vincent Black Lightning" - -- and I thought, "Now, *that* would be a song that Richard would love to cover!"
