My name is Bob Elliot and I live in UK. I was introduced to Richard's music about 6 months ago, by a friend in Canada who sent me a compilation cassette of Richard's music. I was most impressed and have bought most of his stuff since. My favourite artists include John Stewart, Jack Williams, Tom Waits, Mickey Newbury and, now, Richard Shindell. The new live CD, "Courier", is superb. A question : has Richard ever toured UK and is he ever likely to? Thanks for listening. He was not backing her up as he is now, but instead playing guitar for her band. They played "Money for Floods" and "Reunion Hill" so i guess it was around 1997. BTW. While i am on the subject of Renunion Hill, who is the girl singing on the Merle Haggard song ? is it Teresa Williams ? and if so, does anyone have any info on her, good, bad or indifferent, she seems to have a great voice, but i never got around to finding out who she was. Cheers all. Mervyn Get personalised at My Yahoo!. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 25 Jan 2002 17:55:16 -0500 From: "Norman A. I called and they said plenty of tickets are available. I am leaning toward going, but am not certain, so I don't want to commit to being there for anyone, but don't let that stop you. She is a wonder! She is one of the true pioneers of the so-called "womyn's music," but for my money, she is "merely" an extraordinary singer-songwriter. Go see her! Deb ===== You can take the rock band away from the girl and think you've tamed her. But, she'll just pick up an acoustic, give you that innocent little girl grin, quietly laugh and say? "Nevah!"
