The main difference is that Sean and Sting are still alive. Also got the Jeffrey Foucault cd on Saturday....great stuff. Take care, Alan Who do you know who would like some extra income now the credit cards are biting? Have them email me for details. I know it airs at different times in different markets, but I thought it was a pretty cool coincidence to see him this past Saturday night after discussing "Nothing But Flowers" on the list this past week. He performed this song, as well as quite a few other TH songs, it really was a fabulous show, check it out if it hasn't played in your area yet. He also played Naive Melody (This Must Be the Place) from Speaking in Tongues. I think that this would make an excellent wedding song. Richard content: When will Richard be filming an ACL appearance? He is overdue! Peter ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Jan 2002 23:40:16 -0500 From: Lisa Davis & family Subject: Re: [RS] YSH Cover Gabriel Yacoub, really? wow! FYI he was one of the founders of the French folk-rock group Malicorne, kind of a French "fairport convention," of the 70's 80's, (and anyone who wants to hear some of that, well let me know but don't rush me) who then went solo, as did many. (I'm also a big fan of Tri Yann which is another that took the same course with Breton music.) For that matter, Lisa Moscatiello, who is with Whirligig, whose fiddler Lisa Gutman (I think) played with Ricahrd at the university of hartford show last year, and who also is an admirer of that era and of Fairport -- has some great Richard Thompson covers, not to mention her former band -- ALSO does a Malicorne song "Dame lombarde" (in French) on one of HER CDs. Cool. lisa davis ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Jan 2002 08:24:19 From: "Adam Bailey" Subject: [RS] added concert in st. louis- WOOHOO!
