I don't know, but i prefer it. i think it's more apropos, and (perhaps unintentionally) witty, as new york and new jersey have the highest auto insurance rates in the country. - - eric ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 22 Dec 2001 08:58:51 EST From: RockinRonD@aol.com Subject: [RS] Cheers! Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukha to everyone on this List. It has indeed been a year of emotional ups and downs, as Jim posted earlier. But I do look forward to reading the things people on this List have to say each and every day. I know many of you personally of course, some for more than a couple of years now, and I'm richer for it. Like most of you oot there, I have very few people close by to talk to regarding Richard's music. This is a wonderful forum, with a great bunch of people. So do enjoy the holidays and DRIVE CAREFULLY, PLEASE! Let's hope 2002 is filled with great shows and an end to terrorism. I've noticed that he has been doing this in concerts for some time as well. I prefer "Bloody Hill", personally, as it just *sounds* sounds like a Civil War era name. [Has anyone ever asked Richard, by the way, if it's merely coincidence that there is a road just west (I think) of the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival grounds called Bloody Hill?] Pat ______________________________________ ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Hi all: First, let me wish everyone here all the best for a Merry X-Mas, Happy Hanukkah, Kwanza, or whatever your holiday of choice, and a very happy New Year!! I wanted to post a review of Courier, but rather than wax over the many highlights of this disk I thought I would concentrate on the few disappointments instead, with the intention of stating that I love everything about this cd, except for the following: 1.) Is it just me, or is the version of "A Summer Wind, A Cotton Dress" heard here, a bit dull and lifeless? I love this song at RS concerts, and I love it on Blue Divide, but this seems to miss the mark for me... 2.) Another version of Kenworth?.......ugh.... 3.) The clappity-clap version of Arrowhead seems to lose some of the punch of the studio version. Still a great song, but not as effective done this way. ........that's all....just a few minor complaints....comments welcomed! I'm still looking forward to seeing RS live on Valentines Day at the Iron Horse!!! Happy X-Mas!!
