It's a rather unspectacular musical experience. It's my impression that the tour was assembled for the sake of making the songs in concert sound as much like the CD presentation as possible. Dar's performances, while not flawed, were very anesthetic; Ii thought so the night I saw the show and my feelings are re-inforced by the CD. This from someone who thinks Dar pretty darn near walks on water. Pat ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! In fact, I haven't ordered it yet, but will soon. However, my insomniac of a sister ordered it right out of the hopper, and let me have one of her copies today (!!!) when she came to pick up her band fruit at the high school. Such a nice sister. Thanks Fran! I am going to listen to it now. I ordered my copies of the Courier on Monday and got them yesterday. (Hang in with me, I'm not bragging...) I was going to give my 2nd copy of Courier to my sister-in-law this weekend, HOWEVER, since you have been whining so nicely, I thought I would offer my 2nd copy to you until yours come in the mail (really, you would send me your copy. I'll even supply the envelope and stamps...) I won't be in your area until Monday, but we could exchange then if your mail still hasn't come through. If you let me know by early tomorrow afternoon, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Candy ps how's the studies going? - ----- Original Message ----- From: Vanessa Christina Wills To: Sent: Friday, December 07, 2001 12:17 PM Subject: Re: [RS] Courier Kudos > I AM LOSING PATIENCE IN A REAL AND SERIOUS WAY. > > I want mine! Any hoo, I hate to say it, but I think that the "Courier" experience is incomplete if you don't have the "Sonora Sessions". My preliminary impression is that "Sonora's Death Row" is the best cover choice in the whole package. So save studio time and money in future and JUST do live! :) :) And I'm so glad you left in some of the humor. lisa ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 07 Dec 2001 23:55:56 -0500 From: Lisa Davis & family Subject: Re: [RS] Courier Stuff > Although I think "Courier" is excellent, I think Richard's voice is a little > nasally on some of the songs, and I admit the song selection wouldn't have > been my choice. As to voice, I want to go back and do a kind of side-by-side comparison, vocally. I hope we don't have to recommend that richard go back to smoking. lisa ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 08 Dec 2001 00:27:48 -0500 From: Lisa Davis & family Subject: [RS] Er, Courier one more time I would like to concur with the vote in favor of "Sonora Sessions." THAT is a no-skip. Courier, while beautifully recorded and I can't say "overproduced"!:) isn't because naturally it includes Arrowhead which is personally one of my least favorites, Kenworth which while fun is a song that doesn't deserve to be on more than one CD, really, Willin' is ok, sure, but just another cover, Richard-lite, ...... SO, I would like to thank the folks for Sonora Sessions because we're lucky to have it! lisa, who can always find SOMETHING to complain about. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 08 Dec 2001 01:04:50 -0500 From: "Norman A. And to think he was 22 when he died. Ob Richard... This is a great CD and will probably be my number one pick for 2002.
