OK a few more. Again, by "perfect" I'm not saying the one's I can't part with -- there are albums with some duds and some of the most perfect SONGS on them too, and those are disqualified! Similarly, there are other "B+" albums that don't have any duds but don't have anything breakthtaking either. the other criteria would be, albums that you can listen to as CDs in the car (with your portable CD player plugged in on your lap) without fumbling the skip button -- Safety Albums! I already said: Al Stewart - Modern Times Fairport - Liege and Lief RS - Sparrow's Point James Taylor - Mud Slide Slim Martin Simpson - Leaves of Life Dar Williams - Honesty Room However I would now like to add Eric Clapton - Unplugged (that's sort of cheating since it is a best-of and cover album) Cat Stevens - -BOTh Tea for the Tillerman and Teaser and the Firecat Planxty -- trouble is I can't remember whether it is the Well below the Valley or After the break because I listen to them taped. I agree about Old Hag you Have Killed Me. Alasdair Fraser - Skyedance Tri Yann - La dicouverte et l'ignorance how could I forget? October Project - the first one This fabulous tape of Christmas carols played by Kim Robertson on the harp -- my kids have been listening to this as they go to sleep at bedtime EVERY SINGLE NIGHT for the past 8 years, if you can believe it, and now have one in each room. I ought to track her down and tell her so. Out of print you out there with kids. very very nearly: Del Amitri - Twisted Beatles - Revolver S&G - Sounds of Silence; Parlsey Sage ETc (On Bridge Over Etc. I can't stand Cecilia) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 29 Nov 2001 01:51:13 -0500 From: "Norman A. Something for everyone, everywhere (in the >lower 48, that is). Ummmmm... I do not see anything in Montana. You better make that 47. And I bet there are a few more states he isnt hitting too. It sucks to be one of those staes that doesnt really count to most people. But progress is happening in Montana. The Missoula Folklore Society (with me as Concert Coordinator) has these shows lined up: Edie Carey 12/12 Willson and McKee 1/10 Dave and Tracy 1/22 Philips, Grier and Flinner 1/26 Don Conoscenti 2/15 Holly Near and Cris Williamson 3/13 Karan Casey 3/30 Lucy K 4/19 There are a few shows missing here though.... My #1 perfect cd is (I think) Drum Hat Buddha. Or maybe Five Stories, by Kris Delmhorst. Or Something Burning by Deb Talan. OK top 3.
