[Christy Thomas ] [RS] Shades Of Black Shades Of Blue ["Charles Lyonhart" Subject: [RS] exam...lurking...fragility... this goes against my "lurker" nature...but y'all seem so nice and welcoming...wanted you to know i am still here, LURKING...and you are correct, laura, i am not terribly fragile ;) perhaps a bit electronically shy...and, *maybe*, just a bit shy generally... i'm going to do my best with the following "exam"...hope none of my students are on this list as i think this provides a very good example of the kind of exam they WISH i'd write... 1) Richard was in a band with Dar Williams and Lucy Kaplansky. It was named Cry Cry ____? OH...this is a tough one...hmmm...i'm going to go with: Cry 2) Richard wrote a song about a vine clinging to a home in which he once lived. The song is called: a) Wisteria b) Diptheria c) Boogie Oogie Oogie d) Ode to a vine clinging to a home in which I once lived. although (d) sounds like a great song title...and i now have a disturbing visual of richard dancing badly singing boogie oogie oogie in 70's clothing i am fairly certain it is (a) 3) Richard's fourth solo CD, 'Somewhere Near Paterson,' was released in what year? a) 2000 b) 1492 c) 1776 d) 12 B.C. OH...this is a tough one, too!...i'm not quite sure...i don't think they had CDs in 12 B.C. ...and richard looks like a pretty young guy...so... 2000 4) Richard's fourth solo CD was titled 'Somewhere Near ________'? OK...i know it is a place...sparrow's point?...no...hmmm...OH, the answer is contained in the previous question...very clever! ;) Patterson 5) What song does Richard never, ever, ever play in live performance? a) The Weather b) The Weather c) The Weather d) The Weather well, i've only seen him live solo ONCE...but, i am certain he did not play "The Weather" as that is one of my favorite songs of his...identify a bit with boarding all my windows shut... how'd i do???? can i stay??? am i a list-member now???? thanks for a level of difficulty i could manage!!! i realize there is much for me to learn about richard's music...i'm a ready and willing student of y'all's. christy Make a great connection at Yahoo! I wrote the song for Thomas Jefferson Kaye, a musician and producer of the song "This Magic Moment", Loudon Wainright, Dr. John and many other songs and artists. Tommy also produced Gene Clark of the group The Byrds and worked with gene for many years. I had the privilege to call Tommy a friend and work with him until he passed on several years ago. The man in the top hat? That will have to remain a mystery for now. It was (and is) somebody who worked with Tommy and was not there at the time Tommy needed him. Thanks for your interest.
