Then a discussion of how all the "cool chaplains" all became raging atheists. You had to be there...or hear it on the bootleg ...it's really really cute and really funny...the audience was dying of laughter. << Speaking of Cry3 and "you had to be there"... at the same Calvin show (New Year's Day '99), Dar was introducing "Down By the River" about milltowns. Richard was having difficulties tuning so Dar just kept talking about beavers and what beavers did in milltowns.... Richard finishes tuning and starts smirking. Dar looks over at him and says "Do they always do this when I'm talking"... or something like that. Just wanted to tell everyone about Kenny White. Kenny played piano on the songs Wisteria and Grocer's Broom on Somewhere Near Patterson. Kenny has a new (and his first) cd out called Uninvited Guest. Some familiar faces play on his record, also..Larry Campbell, Duke Levine, Shawn Pelton, Shawn Colvin, Marc Cohn, Peter Wolf...Kenny is a great musician and songwriter and I think Richard fans would really love his record. You can check out tracks from his record on www.mp3.com/kennywhite and check out his website at www.kennywhite.net For those in the Northeast, look for Kenny in your town, as he has been playing out here and there. It's so good to hear he's doing well. Please say hello for me when you see him again. "Local" doesn't lower my expectations at all. I've seen many local performers that deserve to be out there and never will. Kris is certainly one. Although, knowing Kris, he's probably as "out there" as he wants to be. I have a lot of respect for his music. Great songwriter. Great guitar and mandolin player. He is missed around here. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "jim colbert" To: Sent: Thursday, October 25, 2001 12:38 PM Subject: [RS] just a few thoughts > Okay, no great insites or depth here.
