Both of my brothers, one a NYPD detective and one an EMT from St. Albans, Vermont, are working at the World Trade Center site. There are amazing acts of generosity and kindness going on there. A man set up 5 barbecue grills and passed hot dogs and hamburgers out to the rescue workers as they ended their 12-hour shifts. A group has set up a tent where they are giving back rubs and foot messages to the workers. We are hearing many of these stories now, but unfortunately, on an everyday basis, good deeds do not get headlines. It's easy to think that the bad are overtaking the good. Maybe we need to pay more attention to the good things in our lives.
