I--meaning me--just dont need their life's story and world tour schedule. Just bothers me that's all, And yes, I know, I know....I can just go scroll. I did that. I do it often. But sometimes I like to vent. Got a problem with that? Huh? ;-P Chuck Pyle. Chuck Pyle. Chuck Pyle. This is a good thing and should be welcomed in this list, provided the topic is within the realm of RS discussion, which of course Son Volt would be. Hey Kevin: I, for one, appreciate information about any new artists that comes along and I myself had no problem with your Son Volt post, even though it came through this list. I am a big fan of Richard's but my music library has been significantly increased by artists I would otherwise have never heard about, save for the information provided by the members of this list. As RonG said, the information passed on about new artists is how many of us fell into the cult of beautiful *pleasure* (Dave and Tracy). And for that matter, many of us found Richard Shindell via Dar-list. Actually, this list is very much ON-TOPIC most of the time (especially in comparison with other lists). Speaking about other artists, I heard some interesting songs earlier today on Jim Olsen's "backporch" (WRSI "The River"). (1) Tom Russell's "Touch of Evil", the one with lots of references to Orson Welles. BTW, I saw the movie of the same name a few years ago... It features a dashing young Charleton Heston as a Mexican detective solving crimes on both sides of the border. (2) Loudon Wainwright III's "Mother liked her white wine", apparently autobiographical. I liked the sequence of lines about every empty bottle being a fallen solider, the marriage was the war.
