I didn't hear Gene say where or when it was recorded, but obviously during his "Blue Divide" period. << Well, he must be one of the people with the live "Scenes from a Blue Divide" promo CD, because those are the four songs (plus "Are You Happy Now") that are on that disc. That's my guess . . . RG ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 09 Jul 2001 09:27:09 -0400 From: "Z Greg" Subject: [RS] bad case of "Wisteria" Folks, yesterday I had a bad case of "Wisteria." I worked in the building where my dad did at the time he passed away. I grew up one block from this building. My dad and I would walk together, and at the corner I turned right and went to school every morning. Outside the right side windows, was the hospital my mom worked at for 40 years, now defunct and replaced by a flashy new for-profit hospital downtown. We passed my childhood home. I knew what was in every building that was now boarded over. "Gee, that was Grogan's spa, that one was Delonis' Market, this one was Tagman's Bakery, over there Gallo's barber shop," etc. We even had calls to homes where I knew the names of the people! I started my career at this place, still living in the home mentioned above, and thought nothing of it. But 24 years later, it was very nostalgic. Let's not drive away just yet Give me a moment more To walk through those dreams again To walk through that door... Ran through my mind all day. I have been saving to move for this whole year and haven't bought Five CD's. Its awful! The only CD I "had" to have was the new Al Stewart - "Down in the Cellar." I am glad I paid the $30 to get it as an import I am really enjoying it. Al is a wine collector and the album is a concept album revolving around wine - with songs about drinking claret with Ben Franklin, a humble man becoming a wine mogul in California, the birth of champagne and others including my favorite song "The Night that the Band Got the Wine." This song is about the wine induced epiphany of an internet millionaire and the band who plays at his ill-fated birthday party. Really a classic (sort of like Dar's Party Generation for fifty-year olds). I really think that if you are a folkie and a wine lover you would love this album. Heck I love the album and I don't care for wine! And I shouldn't forget to mention that Lawrence Juber contributes most of the lead guitar work to this album. Once I am in my new home I have a lot of CD's to buy!!!! We'll have to see if I can catch up by year end. Do you guys think I need "Drum,Hat,Budda"? ;-)!
